Dianne Dao O.D.
Dr. Dianne Dao is a graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology/Biology. She was awarded a Clinical Letter of Excellence after the completion of her doctorate degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry.
Dr. Dao received clinical training at the Herman Eye Center for her internship. She worked closely with several ophthalmologists specializing in retinal pathologies, glaucoma, corneal disorders/diseases, neurological diseases, and oculoplasty. Dr. Dao also trained at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, where she was involved in providing eye care for cancer patients undergoing radiation treatment.
In addition, Dr. Dao received training at The Coastal Eye Associates, an optometric and ophthalmologic practice in Clear Lake, Texas. She gained considerable knowledge and experience in managing and treating red eyes and ocular diseases, as well as co-management of cataract and refractive surgeries. Dr. Dao also trained at The Space Center Eye Associates in Clear Lake. She provided comprehensive eye exams to all age groups and gained excellent knowledge in contact lens fitting, including keratoconus. Dr. Dao also gained unique experience examining and screening astronaut candidates for NASA.
Since 1999, Dr.Dao and her staff have provided eyecare for the Pearland community, specializing in family eye care; computer vision syndrome (CVS), management and treatment of ocular diseases; fitting of all types of contact lenses including soft and rigid gas permeable bifocal contacts; and different types of refractive surgeries.
Dr. Dao is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association. She had served as the Treasurer for the Harris County Optometric Association and as an examiner for the National Board of Optometry. She is involved with various community activities including conducting vision screening and presenting educational seminars to private and public schools in Pearland.
She is committed to raising public awareness of the importance of good vision as a critical tool in a child’s education. Dr. Dao is an active member of the Pearland, Friendswood, and Manvel/Alvin Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Dao, and her husband, Lee, have four boys and live in Pearland. She enjoys cooking, shopping, exercising, church activities, and raising her family in the fast-growing community of Pearland.
